Fauteuil Kangourou Lounge Chair by Catherine and Jean Prouvé for Vitra

The limited edition Fauteuil by Vitra, a collaboration with Catherine Prouvé, daughter of the illustrious French designer Jean Prouvé, stands as a poignant homage to the legacy of this multifaceted creative genius. Jean Prouvé's remarkable career spanned the realms of metalworking, self-taught architecture, and design, earning him the esteemed title of "constructeur" from Le Corbusier, a testament to his remarkable ability to seamlessly integrate architecture and engineering. Prouvé's most enduring accomplishment was the successful transfer of manufacturing technology from industry to architecture, always upholding the highest standards of aesthetic excellence.

In this limited edition Fauteuil Kangourou, the marriage of Catherine Prouvé's creative vision and her father's design philosophy is exemplified through carefully selected features. The chair is adorned with luxurious Dedar fabric upholstery, which provides a sumptuous tactile experience. The dark stained oak base infuses a natural warmth into the design, complementing the overall aesthetic. A distinctive highlight is the powder-coated ecru metal frame, finished in the striking Prouvé Bleu Marcoule, adding a bold and eye-catching contrast to the wooden base and fabric.

With only 100 pieces available, this edition epitomizes exclusivity and collectible value, and it can be exclusively acquired directly from Vitra. It offers design enthusiasts and collectors a unique opportunity to own a piece of design history that seamlessly merges form and function while utilizing unique and meticulously chosen materials and finishes, a testament to the enduring influence of Jean Prouvé's creative vision.
